Terms of Service
Last updated October 23, 2026
The short version
- Your words are yours. We only process them to give you Verve.
- Paid plans renew until you cancel, and you can cancel anytime. Prices are shown before tax, and tax is added at checkout.
- The 7-day trial needs a card. If you don't cancel before it ends, it becomes a paid plan.
- Use Verve lawfully and don't try to break or resell it.
Who you're agreeing with
These terms are an agreement between you and Sebastian Gonzalez, Lima, Peru ("Verve", "we", "us"). By installing or using Verve you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
The service
Verve turns what you say into text on your Mac. The Free plan transcribes on your Mac and polishes up to 1,000 words a week. Pro uses cloud speech engines and unlimited polishing, plus the features listed on our pricing page. Unlimited means one person's own dictation: if an account's use goes far beyond that, for example automated or shared use, we may pause cloud features until the next week. Dictation on your Mac keeps working. Features may change as we improve Verve. If we remove something central to a plan you paid for, we'll tell you and you can cancel.
Verve is new. It works hard to get your words right, but speech recognition and AI polishing can make mistakes. Check what Verve types before you send anything important.
Your account
You need to be at least 16 to use Verve. Keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. An account is for one person; don't share it.
Plans, trials and billing
- Seller. Paid plans are sold by our reseller Polar, which acts as merchant of record and handles payment, invoices and tax.
- Prices. Pro is $10 a month or $90 a year, plus applicable taxes. The price you pay is shown at checkout.
- Trial. Pro comes with a 7-day free trial, one per person and per Mac. A card is required. You won't be charged if you cancel before the trial ends; otherwise the plan starts and renews automatically.
- Renewal and cancelling. Plans renew at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in the app, from Settings › Plan and billing › Manage subscription, or by writing to us. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for, then return to Free.
- Refunds. Payments are non-refundable, including for time left in a period, except where the law requires a refund. If you're in the EU or UK, you may have a legal right to withdraw within 14 days. By starting to use a paid plan right away, you agree that the service starts immediately.
- Price changes. If we change a price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first.
- Gifted access. Free access we give you, for example through an invite, lasts for the period we tell you, and we can end it with notice.
Your content
What you dictate, and the text Verve produces from it, belongs to you. You give us permission to process it only as needed to run Verve for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don't claim any rights to it. Unless you turn sharing off (Settings, see Data controls), we keep samples as the Privacy Policy describes and use them only to test and improve Verve, including the AI that polishes your words. We never sell them or let anyone else train AI on them.
Acceptable use
Don't use Verve to break the law or to harm others, including recording people without the consent the law requires. Don't try to get around plan limits or trial rules, reverse engineer our server or its keys, overload the service, or resell or share access to it. We may suspend accounts that do, after warning you where we reasonably can.
Our software
Verve and its design are ours or licensed to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app while you follow these terms. The paintings shown in the app are in the public domain and credited in the app.
Third-party services
Verve relies on providers such as Apple, OpenAI, Supabase and Polar. Their outages or changes can affect Verve, and we aren't responsible for their services.
Ending
You can stop using Verve at any time, and delete your account in Settings › Account. Deleting it ends any subscription right away, without a refund for the time left. We can end or suspend your access if you seriously breach these terms. If we stop offering Verve, we'll give you reasonable notice and refund any prepaid time you haven't used.
Disclaimers
Verve is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we aren't responsible for decisions or messages based on text Verve produced.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about Verve is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where you live.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using Verve after that, the new terms apply.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Peru. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
